All of the courses listed above have found a way to save their students money by not requiring a textbook. Instead, they are using open educational resources and library resources for their course materials. Each course has arranged the materials in a library guide that is embedded into the course blackboard shell.

Materials can be organized by learning outcome, topic or theme, or by week. In some cases, the discussion board assignments have been added to the guide, along with a password-protected Instructor's guide that contains materials needed to teach the course.
