General Guidelines
Important: Do not copy and paste text directly into the text editor unless you remove the formatting.
To remove formatting in the LibGuides text editor, either:
- Paste the content as is, then click
to remove formatting. - Or, select:
- to paste from Microsoft Word with formatting stripped, or
- to paste as plain text outside of Microsoft Word
- Or, on a PC, press ctrl + shift + v to paste text without formatting
- Before creating any page, box, or asset, check if a similar page, box, or asset has already been created by:
- checking the "Reuse" tab during content creation
- checking the *homepage/reusable guide
- When creating an original asset, box, or page that potentially could be reused by you or others on a separate page in the future:

make the original within the *homepage/reusable guide
Exception: If you are pulling from content in a guide dedicated to that topic (e.g. APA, Phone Directory), this should be housed in the topic guide itself, not the *homepage/reusable guide
- then, choose to "reuse" it within your actual guide
- name it something that is easily identifiable
