Each year, Davenport joins Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a celebration. 

This year, the virtual event will be held on Monday, January 18, and will feature Yamiche Alcindor, White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour and political contributor for NBC and MSNBC. 

Join us online as we hear Alcindor share her presentation, “The Legacy of MLK: Purpose, Truth and Justice.”

MLK Day Flyer 2021

Davenport University will be hosting this virtual event, with limited seating in the Sneden Auditorium. This event will feature Nyle Fort, a minister, activist, and scholar, based in Newark, NJ. He has worked in education, criminal justice, and youth development for over a decade in various capacities.
