EPUB view
EPUB is the default view for most of the ProQuest e-books. This means the e-book has been formatted to read online in the EPUB reader for ProQuest.
PDF view
To view the ProQuest e-book as a PDF in your browser, click on the book icon at the top right of the page and then the Switch to PDF button.
This will open the e-book as PDF in your browser.
Look under the Availability
section of the e-book to see the limits of how many pages you can print, copy and download each day.
If the e-book you are using has a limited number of copies available and all the copies are being read online by other users or are currently downloaded, you will see an In Use
message.
When a user does one of the following, the book's status will change to Available
, and you can access the e-book.

This option is only available for unlimited-access e-books. If you are using a limited-user e-book, this option will be grayed out, making it unavailable.
Step 1 - Getting Started

button under the book cover of the e-book.

or a public computer

You will need to download Adobe Digital Editions to read the e-book offline.

Step 3 - Reading E-book

If you selected EPUB format:
The e-book will expire from your Adobe Digital Editions reader when the time is up. You can check it out again if you need more time.
EPUB VIEW: After you click on the link to get into a chapter, click on the printer icon at the bottom of the page, to print to PDF, which allows you to save the chapter as a PDF to your computer.
Or click on the Download PDF
link next to the chapter name from the Table of Contents page.
PDF VIEW: You can also download the e-book as a PDF in your browser by clicking on the book icon at the top right and then click on the Switch to PDF button.
Click on the PDF icon to download the pages as PDF to save to your computer.
There are limits placed on library e-books as to how many pages you can download at one time.
If the chapter you are trying to download exceeds that amount,
show sub-sections
link to download chapter sections instead. What can I do?
if this happens. EPUB view: To link to a specific chapter, go to the chapter you want to link to and click on the URL from your browser, at the top of the page.
PDF view: To link to a specific chapter click on the link icon at the top of the page.
What do I do when ProQuest E-book Central says Your session has expired, please refresh this page, search again or sign-in again.

With ProQuest e-books, they will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity. So when you try to return to the e-book, it will give you that message. Usually, refreshing the page will bring it back.
If that doesn't work, try the following:
The Research Assistant is automatically enabled on eligible books and can be found on the left side of the screen for PDFs, or on the right side of the screen for EPUBs.
You’ll first see an overview of the book, which is not AI Generated. This overview is the same description you’d see on the book details page.
When moving through the book, you will see the chapter names on the Research Assistant pane.
