If you are using a direct link to the e-book that you got from your class or from the textbook guide, it will take you to a page like this.
To download a chapter, scroll down the page to the table of contents and look for the Download PDF link to download a chapter into a PDF.
You can also search for e-books in the ScienceDirect database.
To find e-books once you are in the ScienceDirect database:
Journals & Books
at the top of the page
Look for the green dot next to the chapter that says full text access to read the chapter online.
If it says Book Chapter No Access, you won't be able to access it and will have to click on the Order Document link and fill out the form to request that the library get the chapter for you.
If it says Book Chapter Abstract Only, then only the Abstract is available for you to read. Click on the Order Document and fill out the form to request that the library get the chapter for you.
To download all the chapters in the e-book:
Get this book
, click Download all chapters
to download all the chapters in the e-book as PDFs
This will save all the PDFs in a zip file that you can open from the download section on your computer.
To read the e-book online, click on the chapter title, and it will open the chapter so you can read it in your browser.
