MLK Day at Davenport University

"Respect and inclusion" is one of our values that we celebrate and strive to infuse in all we do here at Davenport University. Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. symbolizes the struggles we have faced in America to establish full respect for all people -- regardless of race, gender, religion, sexuality, or other factors -- leading to an equitable and inclusive culture for all.

To fully celebrate Dr. King’s legacy, Davenport University will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020, which is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend events commemorating Dr. King, and participate in volunteer opportunities in their communities to observe the spirit of this day.
