PC Download

1. Click SPSSSC_29.0.2_MP_ML.exe

2. Enter your Davenport login as prompted

   

3. Click on the file name: SPSSSC_29.0.2_MP_ML.exe

   

4. Select Download Package

   

5. Save the file to your computer.  Although it doesn't show the extension .zip on Blackboard, it is a zipped file and will download with the extension .zip.

   

6. Unzip/extract the saved file (if it doesn't automatically)

   

7. Select the .exe setup file

   

8. If prompted, click Yes to allow SPSS to make changes to your device

9. It will start to load.  Then select Next at the Overwriting Warning screen

   

10. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and Next at the Software License Agreement window

    

11. Select Next at the Destination Folder window to install the folder in the destination provided

    

12. Select Install at the Ready to Install the Program window

    

13. Select OK if warned that the software may require your computer to reboot (save and close all programs, first)

14. When it is finished installing, click Finish and leave the default check mark so it will open.

    

15. When the software first opens, at the Activate IBM SPSS Statistics screen, choose Launch License Wizard.

    

16. If prompted, click Yes to allow SPSS to make changes to your device

17. Keep Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product). selected, click Next

    

18. Don't contact IBM for an access/authorization/license code. Instead, retrieve the 2924-25 code by clicking here, and paste it in the box labeled Enter Code.

    The new license code for 2024-25 will also work with older versions of SPSS 29.

    Paste the code into the smaller Enter Code box, then clickAddbutton to the right of it to move the code into the big box below, then click Next

    

19. At the Internet Authorization Status window, click Next

    

20. At the Licensing Completed window, click Finish

    

21. If prompted, choose to restart IBM SPSS Statistics immediately (by clicking Restart) or later (by clicking Later)

    

22. You might get a Windows security alert asking you if you want to allow access to private or public networks. Select the private networks check box, and if you want to risk it, the public networks, if you will be using SPSS when in public places on their Internet (not recommended).

    

23. You will be taken to a Welcome screen with updates, help, and tutorial links. This is where you can click on the Licensing Wizard at the bottom right to update your Authorization code. Once you are familiar with everything, if you don't want to see this screen every time you open SPSS, click the check box in the lower left corner Don't show this dialog in the future and then click Close.

    

24. Success!

    

25. You can now load IBM SPSS Statistics as needed by selecting the IBM SPSS Statistics desktop icon, which should have appeared on your desktop.
