Minitab

Welcome

If your class requires Minitab you should've received a welcome e-mail from Minitab with instructions. Follow those.
If you can't find the e-mail, try the Web App or Windows App instructions (see tabs above).
You will need to choose between using the Web App or downloading the Desktop App.
If your e-mail isn't recognized when setting up Minitab, Contact DU's I.T. Help Desk.

Start Minitab Web App

The web app is not supported on Firefox browser.

Click https://app.minitab.com
Enter your e-mail

Student E-mails (Non Work Study Students)

Enter DU E-mail
Example: jsmith@email.davenport.edu

Work Study Students / Faculty / Staff E-mails

Enter first.last@davenport.edu
Example: john.smith@davenport.edu
Warning: If the next screen is a Minitab prompt for your password, your e-mail hasn't been registered.

Either:
- You used the wrong e-mail (see step 2), and should start the process all over again with the correct one.
- Your account was not registered and you should Contact DU's I.T. Help Desk to register and e-mail you.
Enter your Davenport login as prompted
Click Open Web App
Success! You can now use Minitab's Open Web App.
Go to https://app.minitab.com whenever you need it, using the same e-mail as above.

Save Your Work

Files you create are not saved in the Minitab Web App.
To save your work either:

Download the file: Click File > Download a Copy, or
Save your files in your Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive: Click File > Save a Copy

Install Minitab Windows App

Minitab PC Desktop App onlfy works on a 64-Bit PC. It's not needed for your classes, but provides more functionality than the Cloud version. Minitab does not currently have a Mac downloadable app version.

Enter your Davenport login as prompted
Click Download Desktop App
Click the .exe file after it downloads
Choose your setup language, then select Next
At Welcome to Minitab Setup, click Next
Read and accept the License Agreement, click Next
Keep default (Activate with a license), click Next
Keep default (Sign In), click Next
Choose the folder where you want it saved, click Next

$Destination folder prompt, 'C:\Program Files\Minitab\Minitab 20\' filld out as the folder path.$
Click Install
Click Finish
If prompted to restart your computer,
- Save and close all programs
- Click Yes
Double-click Minitab desktop icon to load Minitab
Sign in with the same e-mail used above
Enter your Davenport login when prompted
Success! You can now use Minitab's PC Desktop App.
Click your desktop icon whenever you need it.
