DU Competency Testing

Davenport University Competency Exams have been created by Davenport faculty to award college credit for specific courses at Davenport.  Most educational institutions do not accept Davenport Competency exam credits when students transfer. 

  • Available to only Davenport students
  • May be taken only once
  • May not be taken if student has previously received a failing grade in the course
  • Competency Enrollment Form must be completed by advisor or admission representative prior to testing
  • Two tests per sitting maximum (ENGL 109 counts as 2)

STEP 1 - Schedule DU Competency Testing

STEP 2 - Pay DU Competency Test Fee

Requires a payment of $100.

Register for MATH030, MATH120, MATH135, MATH150, STAT219, STAT220, ENGL021, ENGL109

Have your advisor complete the Student Test-for-Credit Enrollment Form for MATH030, MATH120, MATH135, MATH150, STAT219, STAT220, ENGL021, or ENGL109.

  • You should hear back from DU Testing Services to schedule your test.

ID on Day of Testing

Candidate must provide one form of picture identification such as a passport, a state-issued driver’s license, state-issued ID card, a student ID, or an employee ID.

Candidates will not be tested if they fail to present appropriate ID.

Testing Center Policies & Procedures

Prohibited Items – All personal items including cell phones, computers and other/any electronic devices, bags, purses, wallets, coats, hats (all non-religious), briefcases, watches, books, notes and all other personal possessions. No Exceptions.

Score Results

Test results are sent or reviewed with the Student 1-4 days after the test date, depending on the particular test.   If a student receives a passing score, the registrar's office will be notified and credit will be applied.
