Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)

About CETL

What is the CETL?

CETL stands for "The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning".

The CETL is a physical and virtual collaborative Davenport University faculty community.

Our Mission states that the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning supports, develops and recognizes excellence in teaching, service and scholarship by enhancing faculty skills, knowledge, and behaviors in support of student success.

How do we fulfill the mission of the CETL?

  • Teaching: The CETL provides university leadership in the research, promotion, and education about instructional design and delivery across all instructional modes.
  • Service: The CETL provides structured mentoring for new faculty as a service option for "veteran" instructors and connects faculty to community and institutional partners.
  • Scholarship: The CETL provides a resource for strategies to pursue and recognize active, applied, and community-based research on teaching bringing students and faculty together to benefit the university and the community.

The Vision for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is to provide a physical and virtual collaborative community designed to facilitate and encourage faculty participation in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Welcome to our virtual community --we're glad you're here, and we look forward to learning with you!
