Should I use a rubric?

  • Should students see rubric descriptions?
  • Should students see rubric score range?
  • Should students see rubric after grading?

Should I use SafeAssign?

  • Should students see the originality report?
  • Should submissions be excluded from the Institutional or Global Reference Databases? (common for draft assignments)

Class - Video Conferencing

Class is a virtual classroom you can access in your course within Blackboard.

Tips to using Class

  • You can use it on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPad, or Mobile.
  • Chromebook and Mobile users must join from the Web App.
  • The Class Web App must be launched in Chrome or Edge.  It will not work on Firefox, Safari, or any other web browser.
  • For a better experience, try to minimize the number of tabs you have open when using Class.

From your Original View course, look for the Class Video Conferencing link found in Blackboard Tools on the left-hand navigation and click on it.

From here you will be given two options to Launch Class
  • Launch Class Button
This button launches the desktop app version of Class. First-time users will be asked to download the Class app before entering the room. Please follow the default prompts for installation. We strongly recommend the app for the best Class experience.

  • Launch Class for Web Button
This launches Class in your web browser; no download is needed to enter the room. Class for Web must be launched in Chrome or Edge only. Firefox and Safari are not supported.
